Douglas Wingate, DTCM, FMHC, L.Ac, is an acupuncturist and East Asian medicine practitioner whose focus is on neurological, emotional and neuro-cognitive conditions in adults & children including post-stroke recovery, stress reduction, emotional balancing, PTSD, brain health and the complex effects of traumatic brain injury/concussion as well as acute and chronic pain.

He has authored multiple books on brain health and consciousness as well as having lectured and taught to international audiences on various topics including integrative care, brain health, trauma work, and psychedelic research.

 

Dr. Wingate received his Doctorate from Five Branches University, his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. He additionally holds certification as a Functional Medicine Hyperbaric Clinician, as a Natural Health Practitioner from the Alternative Medicine College of Canada, and postgraduate studies in clinical neuroscience through The Carrick Institute. He has been in private practice since 2011 and has worked an adjunct professor providing acupuncture in Oregon Health & Science University's (OHSU) neurology department. 

Dr. Wingate is also a licensed psilocybin facilitator and psychedelic integration specialist working with Integrative Psychiatry Institute's psychedelic-assisted therapy program.

 

Having studied various styles of acupuncture, he meets your needs with the approach that will best address your concerns, whether a direct trigger-point therapy or a more subtle Japanese meridian approach is best for you.

He is passionate about accessible and equitable healthcare.
In his spare time he enjoys reading, drawing, tattooing (licensed), kayaking, forest bathing, and adventures with his teenager.
