Circuits, Chakras, and Shen: Psychological Impacts of Developmental Neuroimprinting in a Clinical Setting Part I - The Earthly Circuits

This course will cover clinical approaches to working with cognitive and psychological developmental stages and negative "imprints" that may arise from one's experiences during these stages. Drawing from material including the 5 element model, thetraditional chakra model, The 8 circuit model of consciousness development, neuropsychology, and aspects of Zhi and  Po in traditional Chinese medicine. Approaches will include acupuncture approaches, bioenergetic and yogic exercises and essential oils.

Approaches to Treating Brain Injury

This course will cover basic neuroanatomy - brain regions and their functions that are often affected by brain injury.
Physical as well as mental and emotional symptoms that may follow a concussion or brain injury will also be covered with clinical approaches in acupuncture and herbal therapy.

Approaches to Treating PTSD and Trauma

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that may last months to years, with triggers that may return memories of the trauma accompanied by intense emotional and/or physical reactions. This course will explore TCM approaches to assessing and treating patients affected by PTSD. Key pathogenic factors, etiologies, and patterns involved in PTSD will be discussed as well as acupuncture point protocols and herbal approaches to treatment.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Be informed and confident in being able to treat patients affected by PTSD

  • Learn to assess and form a proper treatment plan for patients affected by PTSD

  • Understand key pathogenic factors, etiologies, and patterns involved in PTSD from a TCM perspective
